Dawn comes to us with a background as a Performer in Professional Ballet, Stage Performance, and in Musical Theater. During this time, she not only performed, but gained and developed her skills with stage and character makeup. Dawn’s participation in the America’s Junior Miss Pageant opened the door for her to become one of the signature “Breck Girl” models, where she met some of the top fashion and beauty professionals in the business. She appeared in well known magazines throughout the country. Dawn has been a judge for various pageants worked in public relations and education. She brings many wonderful qualities to our program. Ballet and acting require the same disciplines as modeling; being ready in an instant to go before an audience in full dress or costume, practicing correct posture, grace, charm, energy, eye contact and making a connection with the audience using your personality (or that of the character you are playing). Much training goes on for those who pursue modeling, acting, ballet, etc., any profession that involves being “on stage”. Following the directions of various directors, producers, getting into character, having discipline, dedication, wanting to practice, having patience, dealing with the repetition until it’s right, perfect posture, gracefulness, calmness and all the other characteristics mentioned above, make a winner in the modeling field. There is a lot more to this area than walking down a runway with beautiful clothing. These are the qualities that Dawn brings to the Makeup Artist Academy and to the “Do It For You” Modeling Division.
